Christian Kathi Daniel Matthias

It all began in 2002 in the Puster Valley in South Tyrol (Italy), as Daniel and Christian met each other and decided to make music together, playing Irish tunes with the tin whistle and guitar. Initially, still very inexperienced with this music, the two developed techniques and playing styles on their own.
Matthias has been playing contra bass for quite a while, but at around the same time he discovered the Bodhrán through his A-level work. He joined the two and they all decided to play as a band. Influenced and motivated by the locally well-known folk formation "Titlá", the three played and interpreted famous Irish and Scottish dance pieces.
Daniel's brother Roland (he inspired Daniel to play Irish music) now joined the band as well. In this way their music becane enriched with the accordion, flute and clarinet.
After half a year of intense playing and rehearsing they invited Kathi to join the band. Now, with the violin, it was the first complete formation.
But shortly before the first stage appearance of the band a tragic event occurred. In February 2003 the 23-year-old Roland Moser got hit by a snow avalanche in the mountains and died.
The group was very shocked by this event but they decided to continue the make music together on his behalf, as he would have wanted. As a memorium for him, the band renamed itself "Landor", which is an anagram of "Roland".
